Rockwood Cottages is a village of housekeeping cottages nestled on the shore of Moosehead Lake in Rockwood, Maine. We are located in the heart of a complete four-season vacation area, an area that has something for everyone to enjoy every season of the year in a natural unspoiled wilderness setting. Here is a beautiful, crystal clear lake, 40 miles long and 20 miles wide, with many large and small islands, sheltered inlets and coves. The surrounding wilderness area has hundreds of miles of wood roads and trails offering visitors a chance to get back into the woods and providing fishermen access to the many ponds, streams and rivers. Service facilities such as gas stations, food outlets, churches, post office, and hospitals are available in the Moosehead area. Enjoy fine restaurants, browse through gift shops, antique shops, tackle stores, and old-fashioned general stores. Camera enthusiasts and adventurers can explore the surrounding woods and thrill at the sight of their first moose, deer, bear, partridge and beaver or enjoy picking abundant wild strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Hikers can take a leisurely walk down a quiet wooded trail or a challenging climb up Big Squaw, White Cap, Big Spencer or Mt Kineo.
